Keep reviewing with yellow notes. IMC turns them into text replacements

Many reviewers work in a very natural, visible way: they highlight the text and write in a yellow note what should go in its place. For a person, "highlight boy + write girl" clearly means replacing one word with another.

What's failing

A yellow note and a Replace Text can express exactly the same intention for a person, but they aren't technically the same annotation. InDesign can correctly import and locate a highlighted note and still not treat it as an applicable change: it does apply specific text operations such as Replace Text, Insert Text and Delete / Strikethrough, while a yellow note may end up merely imported and located.

What IMC does

It converts the selected highlight annotations into true Replace Text annotations, keeping their anchoring and their content, so they can enter a native route that expects that specific kind of comment. The tool doesn't interpret what the note means: it transforms its technical form.

The editorial intention is the same. What changes is the annotation type the correction travels in.

How far it goes

It converts the selected notes; it doesn't decide whether their content really constitutes a literal replacement.
If a note contains a doubt, an explanation or a non-insertable instruction, it would also be converted if included in this operation.
The PDF must arrive prepared for this use, or be combined first with a comment-cleanup utility.
